CreativeMornings is a monthly morning gathering of creative types, organized by Tina Roth Eisenberg of swissmiss. Each event includes a 10 minute lecture, followed by a 20 minute group discussion. This is a video of the CreativeMorning talk given by Michael Bierut in January 2010.

Great stuff! What's a rough percentage of clients that you simply say "no thanks" to and walk away (ie. the vetting stage)?

Cody, excluding potential clients that I decline before even meeting, I probably do it at later stages an average of once or twice a year.

Great session. As we are talking about clients, i was just wondering if your mind tends to drift off from the actual client and the problem and find yourself trying to impress other designers with the project??!!!

One difference, apparently, between clients for graphic designers and clients for architects: the building you are designing for a client is almost always the most important thing in their life at that moment, whether it is a private house, a company building or a spec building.
